Last week I wanted to concentrate on looking back, looking on what was possitive about the last 8 years. No, President Bush was not perfect, but a hell of a lot better then the alternatives.

Now, it's time to turn our attention forward.

A young student friend e-mailed me on Tuesday night.

"Have locked myself in my room because the place is full of little idiots -- who cannot spell Barack Obama's name and could not name one of his foreign or domestic policies -- running around screaming obscenities about George Bush, conservatives and how Sarah Palin is a bitch. I love democracy!"

Even so, the people spoke. A victory for the hysterical Oprah Winfrey, the mad racist preacher Jeremiah Wright, the mainstream media who abandoned any sense of objectivity long ago, Europeans who despise America largely because they depend on her, comics who claim to be dangerous and fearless but would not dare attack genuinely powerful special interest groups. A victory for Obama-worshippers everywhere.

A victory for the cult of the cult. A man who has done little with his life but has written about his achievements as if he had found the cure for cancer in between winning a marathon and building a nuclear reactor with his teeth. Victory for style over substance, hyperbole over history, rabble-raising over reality.

A victory for Hollywood, the most dysfunctional community in the world. Victory for Streisand, Spielberg, Soros and Sarandon.

Victory for those who prefer welfare to will and interference to independence. For those who settle for group think and herd mentality rather than those who fight for individual initiative and the right to be out of step with meagre political fashion.

Victory for a man who is no friend of freedom. He and his people have already stated that media has to be controlled so as to be balanced, without realizing the extraordinary irony within that statement. Like most liberal zealots, the Obama worshippers constantly speak of Fox and Limbaugh, when the vast bulk of television stations and newspapers are drastically liberal and anti-conservative.

Senior Democrat Chuck Schumer said that just as pornography should be censored, so should talk radio. In other words, one of the few free and open means of popular expression may well be cornered and beaten by bullies who even in triumph cannot tolerate any criticism and opposition.

WEAK TOWARD ENEMIES

A victory for those who believe the state is better qualified to raise children than the family, for those who prefer teachers' unions to teaching and for those who are naively convinced that if the West is sufficiently weak towards its enemies, war and terror will dissolve as quickly as the tears on the face of a leftist celebrity.

A victory for social democracy even after most of Europe has come to the painful conclusion that social democracy leads to mediocrity, failure, unemployment, inflation, higher taxes and economic stagnation. A victory for intrusive lawyers, banal sentimentalists, social extremists and urban snobs.

Also a defeat for one of the weakest presidential candidates in living memory.

Why would anyone vote for a man who seemed incapable of outlining his policies and instead repeatedly emphasized a noble but, if we are candid, largely irrelevant war record?

He was joined by a woman who was defended so vehemently by her supporters when it was cuttingly evident that she is years away from being, and perhaps never will be, a serious candidate for senior national office.

Most of all it was a terrible defeat for democracy and the United States. A politician of nothing defeated a nothing politician and a credulous electorate screamed in adoration. I fear we will all suffer very much indeed.

Dalai Lama: Terrorism resistant to non-violence

Ethel C. Fenig
The Dalai Lama, living in exile since the Chinese Communists brutally took over his hereditary kingdom of Tibet, revered for his wisdom and adherence to peace and non violence startlingacknowledged some tough realities.

Speaking at a public lecture in India he told his audience

terrorism cannot be tackled by applying the principle of ahimsa because the minds of terrorists are closed.

(According to Wikipedia ahimsa means "to do no harm (literally: the avoidance of violence - himsa). It is an important tenet of the religions that originated in ancient India (Hinduism, Buddhism and especially Jainism). Ahimsa is a rule of conduct that bars the killing or injuring of living beings." ECF)

"It is difficult to deal with terrorism through non-violence," the Tibetan spiritual leader said delivering the Madhavrao Scindia Memorial Lecture here.

He also termed terrorism as the worst kind of violence which is not carried by a few mad people but by those who are very brilliant and educated.

"They (terrorists) are very brilliant and educated...but a strong ill feeling is bred in them. Their minds are closed," the Dalai Lama said.

How to tackle terrorism?  "Prevention."  So, does he advocate the let's engage terrorism and terrorists policy of the new US administration by talking to Iran, Hamas, Shining Path or even the Chinese Communists?  He didn't exactly say that but he

left the audience stunned when he said "I love President George W Bush." He went on to add how he and the US President instantly struck a chord in their first meeting unlike politicians who take a while to develop close ties.

Hopefully our new president, Barack Hussein Obama (D), will continue these ties with the Dalai Lama and the many world leaders who learned to love America under his predecessor, George W. Bush (R).  And hopefully Obama will continue to protect the USA by putting the Dalai Lama's message, learnt from bitter experience, into practice.

When I saw the bit about 40 +/- Al Queda Terrorists dying of the plague, I was wondering if it was a botched attempt at messing with Biological Weapons, and it appears I am not the only one...

OBAMA’S “VICTORY”

Congratulations America!

Good Bye, President Bush.
Thank you for 8 years of service, and thank  you for keeping me and my family safe for these past 7 + years since 9/11.

No matter what crap the media threw at you over the past 8 years, you stuck to your guns in regards to the War On Terror.

No matter what, that makes you only second to Ronald Reagan in my book.

Oh, and thank you for finally doing something about Ramos and Compean's sentances. You were right in making them serve some time for trying to cover up the incident.

I am keeping this here so there is more then one copy out and about.

Socialism is on it's way folks. UNLESS WE STOP IT!

More from IceAgeNow:

Obama climate czar has socialist ties
Group sees 'global governance' as solution
______________________________

12 Jan 09 – Until last week, Obama's pick as global warming czar, Carol Browner, was listed as one of 14 leaders of a socialist group's Commission for a Sustainable World Society, which calls for "global governance" and says rich countries must shrink their economies to address climate change.

By Thursday, Mrs. Browner's name and biography had been removed from Socialist International's Web page, though a photo of her speaking June 30 to the group's congress in Greece was still available.

Socialist International, an umbrella group for many of the world's social democratic political parties such as Britain's Labor Party, says it supports socialism and is harshly critical of U.S. policies.

The group's Commission for a Sustainable World Society, the organization's action arm on climate change, says the developed world must reduce consumption and commit to binding and punitive limits on greenhouse gas emissions.

Mr. Obama, who has said action on climate change would be a priority in his administration, tapped Mrs. Browner last month to fill a new position as White House coordinator of climate and energy policies. The appointment does not need Senate confirmation.

From one of my favorite reads, C&S:

I honestly, truely beleive that our country is at a very, very sad point in our history, and maybe the end of the Republic that so many have fought and died for.

Roger, I hope I can count you as one of my friends.

PUKE!
I mean it, this next four years is going to be insufferable...

Still an Enigma:

"President-elect Barack Obama said Tuesday he is "very concerned" about the loss of life in Israel and Gaza and is closely monitoring the situation, but he once again deferred to President Bush on the matter, saying when it comes to foreign policy the U.S. has just one president at a time.

Obama spoke as Israel continued to pound Hamas targets in the Gaza strip in response to rocket-fire into southern Israel. Israeli officials said that Israel Defense Forces returned volley at a U.N. school after taking "hostile fire." The return fire set off multiple explosions that killed 34 and injured dozens more, according to Palestinian medics.

Obama said he will have plenty to say about the situation in the Mideast once he becomes president on Jan. 20. For now, though, he said he is "deeply concerned about the conflict taking place there." "

So he still refuses to tell us how he stands on the current Gaza conflict?

I really have a super bad feeling about this guy, and it just gets worse, not better...
